LACTATION CONSULTATIONS

In-Home Consultations

Have a lactation professional come to your home to observe a feeding with your newborn and conduct a weighted feeding, which provides an estimate of how much breastmilk baby is taking at the breast. You will receive up to two weeks of access to me via phone calls/texts/emails for any questions or concerns.

$225 ✽ UP TO 2 HOURS

Virtual Consultations

This option is for you if you do not feel comfortable having anyone (except close family and friends) coming into your space after baby is born. We can work on latching and positioning via a Google Meet call, and you receive up to two weeks of access to me via phone calls/texts/emails for any questions or concerns.

Office Consultations

$125 ✽ UP TO 1 HOUR 

Offered every Wednesday from 2:30-3:30pm at Embodied Physical Therapy in Point Pleasant. If you would like to get out of the house and bask in the calm, safe environment that is Embodied, register for a mini consultation. This an hour long session that can be customized to whatever baby and you need. Some possibilities include:

  • assistance with positioning and latching 

  • a weighted feeding to estimate how much milk baby is removing 

  • a back-to-work plan with a flange-fitting and an individualized pumping schedule

  • introduction of solids

  • bottle refusal 

Communication Bundle

This offering is a helpline for parents to ask their breastfeeding questions without the commitment of a full consultation. Worried about how many wet diapers your baby should have on Day 3? Want to know if it is typical for one breast to produce more? Curious about which bottle is best for breastfed babies? Sign up and receive an email with my contact information to ask up to 3 questions and receive a lactation professional’s advice promptly.

Please note that some questions may be out of the scope of a brief interaction and would benefit from a full consultation. I will always do my best to answer your questions, and will suggest booking an in-home or virtual consultation if beneficial.

PRENATAL BREASTFEEDING EDUCATION

Private Session

Gain an understanding of your body and its capabilities for breastfeeding, set realistic expectations for life with a newborn during the first hours, days and weeks, and get an introduction to the mechanics of breastfeeding - all from the comfort of your own home! Plus, build a rapport with a trusted lactation professional who you can contact if any challenges arise after baby is born or if reassurance is needed to feel confident along your breastfeeding journey. Access to a Google Drive folder of reliable resources is also provided through this class.

Group Sessions

Learn about your body and breastfeeding, set realistic expectations for life with a newborn during the early hours, days and weeks, and develop your parenting community in a group setting at Embodied Physical Therapy.
